Synchronicity II

"And every single meeting with his so-called superior, is a humiliating kick in the crotch"

So a few days ago I was tasked to come up with a way to convey data to entities who have water stored in one of our reservoirs. It looks like this year will be the first time since the project was completed that everyone will not get their full allotment of water. The big boss wants to make sure that all of the entities involved (over 20 of them) knows exactly how much water they have. Could I come up with a nice simple data table that conveys the info? Sure! In a couple of hours I was able to figure out how to pull the data from our model and export it into Excel. I then linked 2 spreadsheets so all one had to do was click an "export" button in the model which would populate one spreadsheet which would then populate another spreadsheet with nice headers, borders, titles, etc. Sure, there were a few different ways of doing it, but I like things simple and easily understood. I passed this on to my supervisor who really liked what I did.

On Friday afternoon I got around to reading some of my email from the day. I see an email from my supervisor to the big boss. The text was something like, "Attached is a spreadsheet that Sabot and I worked on." Ummmm..... I saw that she changed a couple of headers, but that was about it. Seriously?!? Perhaps it was unintentional, but I felt a little pissed off. I think she really has that "there is no 'i' in team" attitude. I battle her constantly over the phrase, "put the file on the team drive." Perhaps I am overly touchy about protecting my work. I like that feeling of being the subject matter expert. You have a question, you come to see me. I don't believe in group-think where we all share everything. I want my work to shine and stand out there on its own, thank you. If the report gets mentioned on Monday you can bet that I will be there ready with some snark.
