Kitty and I spent a productive morning advancing the status of our major bathroom remodel. First we stopped at the tile store where we quickly came to consensus on the tile we want to use for our floors and shower/tub areas. I then wanted to check out Lowes to see if I could get some help on ordering the vanities/cabinets. Trying to shop online was a difficult task since there are so many styles/sizes/colors. We quickly chose a manufacturer. Then we chose the style. Then the wood type. Finally the color. Now it was just a matter of seeing what sizes were available. A consultant used his design program, and soon we were looking at a 3D CAD model of our bathrooms. I pulled the trigger and left $5K poorer. That was really the major expense of the whole job outside of the labor. I'm still within budget and coming in under the 2nd bidder who would have provided all of the stuff. I'm getting better quality stuff, however, and it is of my choosing. I'm not letting price dissuade me in my decisions. I'm buying what I want since it has to last me for the next 30 years. Now I'm off to search the web for toilets. Did you know that they range in price from $200 to $2000? For $2000 I had better get a rim job.
