I had a fursuiting event on Saturday. The Boys and Girls Clubs of New Mexico put on a big party for kids. There was a general call for mascots, but only 3 of us showed up. Dusty Roadrunner, the mascot for "Keep New Mexico Clean" was an awesome suit. I had wanted to talk with the mascotter, but he only stayed in suit for about an hour. By the time I took a break, he was gone. I was impressed with his skillz. Just as I was leaving, Sparky the fire dog was making an appearance. I guess I am a little biased now, having seen really cool firedogs at cons. This one seemed really old and worn. I was supposedly representing Animal Humane, but I wore Nevada instead of Zunipup since I was acting without a handler and Nevada's visibility is much better. And since I had no handler, there are no pics. Sorry. Needless to say it was a great gig. The kids loved me and I had a great time.
I also got motivated and sent out all of my Xmas cards last night. Phew. Next year I would like to send a whole bunch to you, my furry family. I'll hopefully be a little more prepared.
I was also motivated to cook. I made my first homemade pizza of the season. Everything from scratch, from the sauce to the dough. Oh yeah. Tasty! I also whipped up a pot of chili con carne. I just love to throw in as many different types of peppers as I can find. No habenaros yet. I need gloves for those.
