On to much lighter things, this was another lazy weekend. I had thought about fursuiting at Wildlife West, but there was nothing going on until the chuckwagon later in the evening. Across the freeway there was a fair going on where I had suited a couple of years ago. I walked through the crowd and it had too much of a redneck feel for me to suit without a handler, so I nixed that idea. The morning would have been a total loss if it wasn't for the fact that Wildlife West now has a BEAR! They got a black bear the week before. His name is the Navajo word for "clown" since he was quite the character in raiding campsites up at Navajo Reservoir. Now I don't feel so bad fursuiting as a bear for the park since they actually have a real bear now. They are planning a bear celebration later in the month so I hope to suit then.
I spent the rest of the weekend cooking. My garden has been a prolific producer of zucchini. The tomato plants are also starting to produce in great numbers. I made a big batch of fresh salsa, a zucchini casserole, and stir-fry with chicken and zucchini. Also in there I baked a banana bread and made Mediterranean chicken. I loved being creative in the kitchen. Kitty and I will be eating leftovers all week. Speaking of which, she is on her way from her old home to her new one. This is it. We are now pretty much officially a couple. Things will be very busy over the next few weeks. You never know how much you love someone until they are gone for just 2 weeks, but it seems like months. I will also debut my new icon showing how much I love her.
