Abbey's Debut

Today marked the first public performance of Abbey Raccoon. I arrived at Wildlife West at around 11. I helped get the place set up for this weekend's activities. There was going to be food, music, hayrides, lectures, a wine and cheese reception, and tours of the park. I suited up as Abbey at 1 pm and performed until 3. It was a small crowd, but what lacked in quantity was made up by quality. I posed for a few photos and got to pass out lots of hugs. There weren't that many kids, but I was able to spend a lot of time with them. I had 2 little girls that demanded to be constantly hugged. I also had a little boy drag me over to his mother because she was in need of a hug. Of course I obliged. I was dragged around by a bunch of kids who eventually brought me to their mother asking that age old question, "Can we bring him home with us, mommy?" *grin* The suit was great to perform in. It was near record breaking warm today, but there was a nice breeze, and the suit really breathed well. Overall I got rave reviews. I will reprise my role tomorrow for day 2 of the event. About the only bad part of the day was a little boy around 5 years old that was just terrified of the suit. I have never had a child that old react that way. I felt like Santa from "A Christmas Story." All I had to do was look at him from 20 feet away and he started bawling his eyes out.

After I desuited I decided to give thrashbear a call. It was great to hear his voice again. We haven't spoken since AC. It was decided that he would pay me a visit in 2 weeks for my fursuiting gig for the "Brother Bear" premiere. I'm really looking forward to seeing him again.
