Garden 2007

I've decided to put off doing the big garden/backyard overhaul until next year. I would rather put 20-30k into an awesome kitchen since that almost always increases the value of a house. Since there will be no new garden space, I decided that this weekend would be the one to go ahead and plant a vegetable garden in the same old spot as the past several years. It's small, but the soil is decent and it has produced in the past. A quick trip to Home Despot and soon we had tomato (4), pepper (2 chili and 2 bell), and eggplant seedlings. I also added a couple of short rows of corn, a row of carrots, and mounds containing watermelon, zucchini, and cucumber. I'll use good ol' LJ to post updates and yield info.

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous over the past few days. The highs have been in the upper 70's/low 80's. We've been sleeping with the window open at night which is a little chilly in the mornings, but also good for snuggling. I got the swamp cooler all set up and running today as well. The heater has been turned off. Yup. It's officially Springtime! *dances around nekkid and smells flowers* Hmmmm. I need a "farmer bear" icon for these posts. Maybe I can pick one up at Califur next weekend.
