Love is a Battlefield

I was going to make my final picture post today, but LJ decided to go all retarded a little while ago. So I shut down the laptop. *shrugs* Oh well. I will be one of "those people" that make con posts weeks after the actual event.

So what else can I write about? Well, last night I saw Pat Benatar in concert. Yeah, it was an "old folks" concert. *lol* And I must be getting old because the saying about rock-n-roll that "if it's too loud, then you're too old!" was certainly true. I like rock, but I don't need my eardrums shattered just because of that! I think the sound guy was just an overall fuck-up because there was lots of feedback and humming throughout the entire show. And I came there to hear Pat's stunning vocals. Several times she was drowned out by the guitars. But let me tell you, for someone who is 54 and has been rocking since the 70's, she was amazing! I'm gay, but she looked damn sexy as well!

She played most of her hits as well as a few other numbers thrown in to highlight her depth as a performer. The show lasted about an hour and a half. The final number of the evening was the title of the post. It brought back fond memories of my dorm life as either a freshman or sophomore. The video for the song is a classic bit of 80's kitsch. We used to see who could dance the most like Pat. *lol* Look it up on YouTube. I can't post a link since it's blocked at work.

Next up will be Cake in August. No, not the cute Danish suiter, but the group. See! We're not THAT old! I have all of their cd's so it will hopefully be a good time. Neouka said in Kitty's post that they were booed off the stage in Canada a few years ago. Anybody know about this? I just hope they put on a good show. Their video for "The Distance" was one of the first ones in the 90's to make me want to get a fursuit. Once again, you'll have to look it up on your own.
