Kitchen Remodel Update

There's a lot to be said about doing a home improvement job yourself. You save a lot of money and you have pride in doing a job yourself. There's also a lot to be said about paying a contractor to handle every aspect of the job. In my case I am extremely happy that I hired the kitchen remodel job out. Here it is only one week since the old kitchen was gutted and the new cabinets are already going in. *dances excitedly*.

At my last house I did a lot of the work myself. It took several months before everything was done. At the rate the contractor is moving on this job, he should be 90% done by the end of this week. He's taking today off since he worked a different job over the weekend. We'll see how much he gets done tomorrow.

Oh, and if you're curious how much this is all costs, let's just say that over the weekend we went out and chose handles for all of the drawers and doors. We were blown away at Lowes when we were confronted with 200+ styles plus custom orders. We chose a simple yet elegant brushed metal design. It ended up costing just over $200 for handles alone! Of course we needed a bunch for all of the drawers/doors we have, but still! Anyway, it should look awesome.

PICS!
