"Confessions of a Superhero"

Yet another Netflix documentary watched. This one dealt with the people that dress up in costumes to schlep money from tourists on Hollywood Blvd. This one hit a little closer to home since I actually did that once in 2004 right after Califur. Well, I wasn't there for the money, but I was a bit shocked to have people slip Kitty money to get a pic with me. "Brother Bear" had come out a few months earlier so maybe they thought I was trying to be Kenai. Pics from that weekend can be found HERE.

The movie followed 4 performers and did their backstories. I had to stop myself from calling these folks nuts because this documentary could have easily been about furries. It was a comforting in a very bizarre sense to realize that there are people that fucked up out there who are NOT furry. They might even make us look normal! *LOL* Really, the message I came away with is that we all do our thing for different reasons, and as long as we're not hurting anybody, live and let live. You also should be careful because some folks are on the edge, and you never know when you might push that button that sets them off. I say that because Batman had anger issues and was eventually arrested for getting into a fight. Anyway...it was an enjoyable movie and once again, it proved that you can still be "out there" without being a member of a fandom.
