Ring In the New

Here I sit at my desk deciding what to write on New Year's Eve. As you get older the years sort of blend together especially if there is no earth-shattering event to define it. When you're young there seems to be so much change. As you establish roots and settle down, you're left with nothing but routine. Geez, that sounds depressing. *lol*

So what shall I write about 2008? *shrugs* It was another year. I lost about half of my savings in the Market, but I'm hoping for a turnaround in 2009 where I'll make it all back. I bought a new fursuit, Quewe, which fulfills a dream I have had since joining the fandom. Now I just need to get to Yellowstone! I attended 2 new cons, Furfright and FWA. I attended 3 others including FC, RMFC, and MFF. There were many furmeets at Fur Central. The highlight of the year was touring New England at the peak of Fall colors. The lowlight was getting rejected for a new job in Nevada. The good news is still having a job in this shitty economy.

What's in store for '09? *shrugs* Who knows. I know I'll be at FC in a few weeks, and I already have a room for AC. Of course we'll be on staff again for MFF. Everything else is up in the air. I want to conserve vacation time somewhat so that I can get back into the "use or lose" category by 2010. Why? I don't know. I'd just like to have a nice full vacation bank in '10 so I can finally get up to Alaska and get in that guerrilla fursuiting in Yellowstone.

I want to respond individually to everyone here in LJLand wishing me a happy new year, but there are just too many! So here is a blanket wish to everyone out there for a happy and prosperous 2009.
