A couple of months ago a co-worker asked me if I wanted to go bowling. He showed me a flyer for a charity event for one of the local animal rescue groups. The name of the event was the "Fur Bowl" so of course my mind instantly turned to fursuiting the event. I asked the other local fursuiters if there was any interest, and before I knew it, I had a team of 4 put together. So rather than bowl with co-workers, I entered the event with Team Albufurque. Kitty gave them advanced notice that we would be in suit and they LOVED the idea.
We ended up with 6 suiters instead of 4. There was myself in Zunipup, Kitty, scritchwuff
, and ari_foxy
. The bowling alley was kind enough to let us use their defunct pro-shop as a changing area/headless lounge. Unfortunately, since every bowler was a suiter and we didn't have a single handler, there were no pics of the event. Well, perhaps the organization will send us one because pics WERE taken, it was just that we were all busy bowling and not taking pics. Overall we were well received. It DID accomplish my ulterior motive in that we got our name out there for prospective gigs. We also had a fun time with friends. My bowling sucked greatly with many gutter balls. Also, after 3 games, we were all exhausted. The evening ended with a nice dinner at Garduno's (even though we were right next door to Sadie's).
