Natural History Post

Just a quick note that I spotted the first wildflower of the season up on the mesa. One lone freckled milkvetch decided it wanted to brave the weather and send out a nice purple flower. Sucks to be you! The temps are supposed to drop 10-20 degrees tonig. We could even see a little snow. I have been noticing lots of milkvetch plants up on the mesa really greening up in the last week as temps climbed into the 60. The wild rhubarb has also been greening up as well. That's no surprise, however. Every year it is the first green I see up there. As much as I am chomping at the bit to get the garden growing, I know enough to not even THINK about planting stuff until after my b-day next month.
