Noche de Beisbol

Kitty and I took in an Isotopes game last night. We had nice seats 7 rows up and just to the right of home plate. I was looking straight down the 3rd base line. The 'Topes kicked Omaha's behind. It was a very enjoyable game. My pick for someone to make it to the Dodgers was the first baseman Michael Restovich. He was 3 for 4 and almost hit for the cycle with a double, a triple, and a homer. He's batting .326 at the moment.

The most fun happened when Scott Thorman of the Royals refused to move for an Isotopes golf cart while he was taking practice swings. He finally moved over, but the cat-calls from the stands started raining down. After that point every time he came up to bat the fans razzed the heck out of him. There's nothing more amusing than dozens of beer-fueled insults being hurtled by angry fans. To make matters worse at his last at-bat he was called out on strikes. He got in the umps face which REALLY set off the fans. I don't think I have heard Kitty laugh so hard. I almost felt sorry for the guy, but it's just one of those things you have to deal with, like Internet trolls.

I do enjoy heading out to the ballpark at least once a year. There's just something magical about the whole experience. The weather was perfect. The seats were great. Even Orbit was in fine form as he did a back flip and hand stand. In that suit, that's impressive! And even though they rape you on the price, hot dogs, peanuts, Cracker Jack, and beer just seem to taste so much better at the old ball game.
