Kitchen Bear

I like it when Kitty has a night class. I get the whole house to myself. Rather than parading around in my underwear singing Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock-n-roll" I spent the entire evening in the kitchen. First up was a batch of salsa with tomatoes and peppers from the garden. The one surviving poblano chile plant is producing some lovely peppers. They've got some nice heat as well! After the salsa was finished I started on yet another batch of bread-and-butter pickles. I think I am up to somewhere around 5 gallons for this year! Since I just harvested some eggplant, I have a feeling that some ratatouille is in the cards for dinner.
