Never Cry Wolf

A couple of weeks ago when I was experiencing one of the best days evar flying to a glacier on the flanks of Denali, I made a comment to Kitty that flying through the mountains reminded me so much of the beginning of the movie "Never Cry Wolf." She said she had never seen it. Back at the lodge while making the post about the trip I quickly made a side trip to Netflix and added to the #1 spot in the queue. We watched it together yesterday.

Ah yes. The first 10 minutes of the movie reminded me so much of dodging glacier-clad peaks. The takeoff and landing were not nearly as harrowing, but seeing that scenery again was wonderful. The movie has to be on my Top 10 of all time. It was released by Disney 28 years ago at the perfect time when an impressionable 18-year old was developing visions of living in the wilderness with a bold sense of adventure. It still gets to me after all this time.
