Commercial Fail

There are 2 commercials on the airwaves nowadays which make me wonder what types of idiots are running advertising firms. It also reminds me why I watch so very little commercial tv except for the news latest infotainment.

The first is for Arby's whose new motto is "Good Mood Food." The ad says to avoid food coma, you should eat an Arby's roast beef sandwich. *LOLWUT* Do they even know the popular definition of "food coma?" To me it has always meant that you eat so much that all you want to do is crash and sleep. It has never referred to boring food which I guess is what the ad is implying. Oh yeah! A roast beef sandwich is SO exciting!

The second ad is for Planet Fitness whose motto is "A Judgement Free Zone." I guess people don't join gyms because they are intimidated by all of the ripped bodybuilders working out. In the ad they have a manager showing the gym to a bodybuilder type who continues to repeat the line "I pick things up and put them down" in an Ahnold voice. The manager then tricks the guy out the door and slams it closed. Wait. You pride yourself by being a "judgement-free zone" and yet here you are judging this guy just because he likes to lift weights and talks like a Neanderthal. Tsk tsk! So hypocritical!
