We had no big plans for this weekend. We had signed a contract with a local contractor to re-do our 2 1/2 baths a few weeks ago but part of the contract was that we would provide him with all of the major components i.e. faucets, cabinets, lights, etc. We checked out a place he recommended which we knew would be a little more pricey than Home Depot or Lowes. Let's just say that we were both blown away by all that is available on the market. How do you choose from amongst literally dozens of fixtures?!? Fortunately the person we talked to told us a few simple tricks that would reduce a few hundred choices down to just a few. We then headed to Lowes to see if we could get our choices for a lot less. It was actually a lot of fun to have a meeting of minds to get choices down to just a few options.
In other news I finally got my weather station up and running. I had bought it at Costco a couple of weeks ago, but I could not get all of the components synched. Today I did a re-boot and got everything talking to each other like it was supposed to.
Finally, we sat down to watch the movie "Before Midnight" which was nominated for best adopted screenplay. Wow. It takes A LOT for me to turn off a movie before it's done, but this was such a huge pile of shit that I could not stomach more than 30 minutes of it. It was truly one of the worst movies I have ever seen! Kitty agreed.
So that has been the weekend so far. It was close to 70 in terms of temps. I actually ran the sprinklers today to get the lawn watered. I'm already resigned to the fact that this is going to be one of the worst years on record in terms of snowpack runoff.
