Last night was the annual St Patty's Day furmeet at Fur Central. I must say that it was one of the best meets we have had in quite some time. Perhaps it was in part due to the fact that our local "problem fur" didn't show up. I think the bigger reason, however, was that we have one of the best group of people one could hope for. So many of our group go above and beyond to make the meets so memorable. The generosity of our group would be the envy of most fur groups around the country. I did my part by cooking up 12 lbs of corned beef which didn't last very long. shajoni and her mate showed up with enough Jello shots to keep a frat house happy for a week. zippiner showed up with several alcohol-soaked pies. Tim and Diz came with "rocket fuel" of which I only partook in small measure since I found out it had a bottle of Everclear in it which I could barely taste. We were also surprised by a fursuiter who showed up with a stack of Domino's Pizza. This was his first furmeet and since he worked there, decided to surprise us with pizza. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about in terms of how generous our group is! There were several new furs who showed up and they all left with huge smiles on their muzzles, happy to know that there is a vibrant furry scene in ABQ. Hopefully friendships were made (they're magic, haven't you heard?) Of course many Irish car bombs were consumed. Thanks to scritchwuff for providing the big bottle of Jameson Whiskey which was almost killed. Even though the weather was cold and windy, that didn't stop folks from hanging out on the patio. Just wait until AlbuFURque! BTW, the date has been set for June 21!
