How To Spend Money...Without Really Trying
I'm glad I have a nice reserve fund built up so that I can make somewhat spontaneous purchases without a worry about where the money will come from to pay for it all. I had talked to my mom last weekend and asked if she wanted to fly out here for Thanksgiving and the wedding. At 88, traveling becomes an issue. I prodded her with tales of seeing many seniors at airports. If she needs assistance, there are wheelchairs to get her to and from the plane. She finally agreed to make the trip. I was able to find some really cheap fares on Southwest a little before the holiday and a little after. If you want to travel on that weekend, however, you'll pay through the nose.
Next came up the Albuquerque Comic Expo which is this weekend. There are plans to fursuit the event like I did last year. It was a blast. I totally nerded out. Tickets bought!
Finally I decided to treat Kitty and myself to a performance of "Wicked" which will be coming to town in a few months. Tickets were pretty pricey, but I decided, "What the hell! Go for it!" So I got us some pretty sweet seats. I'll try to be good and not sing "Popufur" during the performance. *lol*
I then put my smoking credit card back into my wallet. July will be a month of austerity, and then I'll be right back to spending on our trip for Al and Dex's wedding as well as the "Honeymoon in Vegas" afterwards. I'm just doing my part to stimulate the economy.
