Let The Stress Begin!
Bless me, LJ, for I have sinned. It has been over 10 days since my last confession. (Catholic joke)
Things have been a little hectic for me over the past week or so and will probably stay that way for the next week as well. I spent all last week in a training class. Oh boy! Contract administration! Kitty's birthday was thrown into the mix which meant a few dinners out with her and friends. We took advantage of her kosher (i.e. free!) meals from local restaurants. There was also a "bachelor" party for me in there somewhere. I don't remember the ending of it which means it must have been pretty good. Actually it was just a few friends, a bottle of rye whiskey, and some medicinal herbs. It also included a trip to a new brewpub named "The Boxing Bear." I wore my ears since I'm such a furfag, but the staff really like it.
The countdown to Thanksgiving and the wedding is really ticking down. I'm supposed to be cleaning house today, but I took a little break to get on LJ. The turkey is bought as are all the fixins. The final contract with the hotel was signed. We decided to go the furfag route towards the end of the reception, so hopefully there will be some good fursuit photos. Our hotel liaison is really looking forward to an appearance by the critters.
The week after the wedding I will probably be heading off to Chicago to spend time with mom. She's doing ok in rehab/pt, but I don't know how much she will be able to do on her own. It'll suck to be away from Kitty over Christmas, but you gotta do what ya gotta do. I've cleared everything with work, and I might even be able to work remotely which will save a little leave.
About the only other thing going on is that Diva and Billie have now been de-kittenated. The vet bill floored me, but at least we won't have to worry about our kittens having kittens. Plus our little girls are so worth it. Trust me. If you can get a pet at a local shelter that has been fixed and chipped for under $100, you are getting a bargain!
Albear and Dexter Fox arrive tomorrow! Whoot! Then the good times can really begin!
