My Favorite Season

Hooray for Fall! I do love this time of year. I get to save money because neither the air conditioner nor the furnace are needed (Kitty would argue that it's time to turn on the heater. Meh!) There's nothing better than putting on your footie pj's on a weekend morning and sitting out on the patio with a hot cup of coffee. I had a "furry moment" last weekend when I was sitting out on the upper patio just after sunset. It started getting a bit chilly, so I took my own advice that I give Kitty when she says that she is cold; I put on a fursuit. I grabbed my cheap Chinese ripoff suit of Baloo which has a horribly cheap head but a pretty darn nice body suit for the price. It's also nice and warm. So I sat on the upper patio headless (*gasps!*) but in perfect comfort. The only thing I don't like about the season is that I thought it must have been about 9 o'clock since it was getting really dark. Nope. It was only 7. It's REALLY going to suck when we go back to standard time in a week or so.

And now something for allaboutweather. We had a wonderful closed low park itself over AZ the past few days. There was even a tornado warning to the west of town as a cell went from red to pink to even purple with a hook eventually forming. Nothing came of it, however. I picked up a whopping 1 inch of rain over 2 days. The rivers are flowing nicely, and the ground is now prepped with moisture to be covered with a nice snowpack in the mountains. Speaking of which, this was the first "major" snow-producing storm of the season. There is a DOT camera up in the mountains north of Taos and the ground was blanketed in white this morning. Come on El Nino!
