Thanks for all of the kind birthday wishes on Saturday. It was a very chill and happy weekend. On Saturday Kitty took me out to breakfast. Yeah, it was kinda kosher in that we used a BOGO offer. After that we headed over to a local nursery to check out fruit trees for the great front yard remodel. I think we'll have a hard time choosing! Both of us definitely agreed that we'll have to get a honeycrisp apple. It will be harder choosing from all of the varieties of apricots, peaches, plums, and cherries. Right now the front yard is a completely bare canvas. A crew was out there with a bobcat last week removing every bit of rock and vegetation that was there. It actually looks pretty good! So much space from which to create my ideal little oasis.
Later in the evening we headed over to scritchwuff
's den for a little party. Kitty tried to make it somewhat of a surprise party, but she's terrible with keeping a secret. Scritch really outdid himself with a beef brisket. He slow-roasted it to perfection. Of course I was given the gift of whiskey which I shared with my boozy friends. I'm so easy to shop for! Anything with bears or booze and you're golden!
Sunday was another relax-o-day. We watched "Moana" and "Star Trek Beyond." Both were kinda "meh." But it was nice to not worry about chores or house projects. For dinner I made meaty red beans and rice using the bone from last week's Easter ham. So good!
