Kitty and I went to our first Broadway musical of the new season. Neither of us had heard of "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder," but it must have been good since it won a Tony Award a few years ago. And we both enjoyed it! The plot involved an ordinary British man who finds out he is heir to a fortune. Unfortunately there are 8 relatives in front of him for the inheritance, so he helps those 8 people to an early demise. The acting was great especially the single actor who played the roles of all 8 relatives. The musical numbers were nice, but not memorable. There was really no "show stopper." I did enjoy "Better With a Man" which was full of double entendre as one actor sang about how nice it was to have a guy friend while the effeminate male character was thinking in a more "friends with benefits" way. It was just a nice date night for Kitty and me. We're both looking forward to all of the rest of the shows to come in 2018.
