Seeing that this is the Memorial Day weekend, I decided to pop in a war movie yesterday. I was going to pop in "Platoon," but decided to watch "Born on the 4th of July" instead. I don't think I have seen that movie since I saw it in the theaters when it came out in 1989. It was a tough movie to watch. Oliver Stone won Best Director for it and Tom Cruise was nominated for best actor. What I found "amusing" about the whole thing was that you could change the name Vietnam with Iraq and the same stuff that was going on 30-40 years ago is happening today. I'm still waiting for the serious protests to begin. It's just amazing that there is no great public outcry about what is going on in this country. I guess I'll let my vote do the talking this year and especially in 2008.
