Yesterday Kitty and I had a choice; free tickets to the preview of "The Devil Wears Prada" or free tickets to the Albuquerque Isotopes. That's no choice! Beisbol! It was also Orbit bobblehead day, so we each got a free one! It was a beautiful night. The scoreboard thermometer read 90. I had my foot-long Hebrew National smothered in enough sauerkraut to feed a starving German family. It being New Mexico I also liberally applied copious amounts of green chile. To complete the picture I got my beer, and everything was set for a nice night at the ballpark. We sat and enjoyed our meal as the stands filled. About 10 minutes before the start of the game there was lightning. Five minutes later the skies opened up and the rain came down in sheets. Even though we were just under the balcony, the wind whipped the rain under it. We took refuge further under the balcony. Within about 15 minutes it was over. You gotta love desert rainstorms. The scoreboard thermometer now read 65. It then took the ground crew about 2 hours to get the field back into playing condition. At 9:00 the game finally started. It was a great game with the score going from 7-1 in the 1st inning to 10-7 by the 4th. Unfortunately we were both getting exhausted, so we called it a night. I see by the box scores that the game ended with that score, so I'm glad we left. The good news is that even though the entire game was played, they are offering rain checks so that we can get 2 more tickets! Whoot!
