This was pretty amazing. I posted these pics to my "nature" LJ abq_west_mesa and I thought I would post them here as well. I was amazed how close I got the location from the "before" pic to the "after" pic. The before pic was taken earlier this year. I'm not sure if it was late Winter or early Spring, but it didn't really matter. It has looked the same all year. With almost no precipitation all Winter the mesa was dead until the rains started in early July. The after pic is what the mesa looked like yesterday. There has been an explosion of wildflowers. I counted at least 6 different species yesterday. Someone could do a wonderful micro-environment study up there with the distribution patterns of the different flowers.
