I just got caught up with last week's episode. I've only missed 2 episodes in the series, 13 and 14, because NBC is being retarded again and all but the first and last few episodes are no longer on their website. The links appear to be there, but I can't get the episodes to play. I sent off an email asking for an explanation, but all I received was a form email that said they receive too many emails to respond. Then why put up a feedback page?!?
Anyway...I noticed a very interesting similarity in where the show is starting to go and the storyline of the 80's comic/graphic novel series "The Watchmen." The Linderman character played wonderfully by Malcolm McDowell is just like the character Ozymandus in the comic book. He will use the destruction of New York City to unite the world. It'll be interesting to see how things play out. I need to go back and re-read the series. Supposedly they will be making a movie of "The Watchman." I know I have mentioned this in LJ in the past. According to the IMDB,, it's in the earliest stages and may be done by next year. I'm not holding my breath, however, since they have been saying that for over a year now. With all of the successes in turning comic books/graphic novels into movies, you would have thought that making this famous series into a movie would be a no-brainer.
Speaking of comic books into movies, I just heard that Spiderman 3 cost $300 million to make. WTF?!? That's insane! I also heard the new Pirates installment almost cost as much. Oh, and there must be some comic book fans on the staff of "Heroes" since Stan Lee made a cameo appearance in one of the later episodes.
And there was your geeky, fluffy, Friday post!
