The worst con in terms of location has to be MFM. You're in the middle of nowhere with only the Catfish Cabin within walking distance. MFF has Woodfield Mall across the street, but not much else. FC is pretty much away from everything as well. Califur has stuff close by, but not easily walkable. AC rocked when it was in downtown Philly. It's pretty darn good in Pittsburgh, but the town shuts down after 6. No, if you want a great location, it will be RMFC. It's right in the heart of downtown Denver with the 16th St Mall just outside the door. There are many many restaurants up and down the mall and there is free public transportation that runs often. I guerrilla fursuited the mall at lunch time today and had an absolute BLAST! There is a big festival going on in the park across the street. You can bet that a lot of fursuiters will be there tomorrow.
When I first heard about this con I was a bit skeptical. The theme was very much outdoors related, but here was the con, in the middle of a major metropolitan area. Oh yeah. Recipe for disaster. Well, so far so good. Denver is a great town and it is definietly fursuit friendly. I have been having the time of my life in just one day. The programming, dealers den, and art show will come along eventually as the con grows (hopefully). But if you want a fur con in an area where there is lots to do outside of a con setting, this is definietly the place to be. A big claws up from me.
Oh yes. Fursuiting pics will be uploaded once I get home.
