As promised here are a few pics from last weekends excursion to Hovenweep National Monument and Canyons of the Ancients National Monument in the 4-Corners region. One the one paw the ruins are not that impressive, but on the other paw they are when you consider they are 700-800 years old. I guess when you put them up there with the Great Pyramids, Rome, Athens, Machu Pichu, Tikal, etc, they once again aren't all that impressive. But they do tell the story of the ancient peoples of the Americas. They also might have a lesson for us in this part of the country since they were most likely abandoned due to climate change.
