This weekend I fursuited Monument Valley which has been the backdrop for dozens of westerns as well as flicks like "Back to the Future" and "Forrest Gump." The land is owned by the Navajo Nation so it's not a national park, but it certainly is one of this nation's truly great natural landmarks. I must also say that scruff_e_coyote and I are not the first suiters to have performed here. I know I saw pics of another suiter who had been here. Was it chairoraccoon? I know he posted some wonderful pics of himself in suit in the wilds of Arizona. I would post a link to his LJ, but it's a friends locked post.
So since a pic is worth 1000 words, I think I'll just post several pics. I'll just say that conditions were ideal and that we had a complete and total blast. We were well received by the Navajo people especially Scruff E. I might post a more detailed travelogue tomorrow. But for now.... PICS!
A place called "John Ford Point" after the great western director who filmed classics like "My Darling Clementine" and "The Searchers" in the region.
Look at all of that beauty!
Just a polar bear slummin' in the desert
A hungry yote lookin' for some prey
He tries to get the assistance of the polar bear
They search high and low looking for tasty morsels
They stealthfully move among the rocks
Shhhhhh! I think I hear something!
Quick! Blend in like Totem Pole Rock! Look like a totem pole!
Now go, Coyote! Snag the elusive sheep!
Failure! Bear decides to end relationship with coyote
Naw! Bear loves coyote!
Bear and Yote will always be best friends!
