So I watched about 20-30 minutes of the debate last night. That was about all I could stomach. These things are for people who still haven't made up their minds about who they should vote for. For people like me who are pretty much sold on a particular candidate, this stuff is just a bunch of masturbation. I personally think McCain "won" just because his points seemed a little more focused. I guess I was hoping Obama would hit some sort of home run or look more presidential than he did. I was just pissed that he did what every candidate does which bugs the living shit out of me! He didn't directly answer the goddamn questions! When asked about a SPECIFIC program he would eliminate to help balance the budget, he went off on his usual spiel about middle-class tax breaks, closing loopholes on corporate taxes, and bringing troops home from Iraq. That's all good and well, BUT ANSWER THE QUESTION! McCain's answer was more straightforward, but it scared the shit out of me. Let's cut government programs. Oh! Except for defense! Sorry, bucko. I lived through 8 years of Reaganomics. Look inside of your tax booklet. See how much we spend on defense compared to every other government program combined. You'll be shocked! Compare all of that to how much we spend on paying off the debt and you'll be sick!

Obama came across as wimpy. He could have tore McCain a new one, and he didn't. Perhaps he's trying to play nice guy and not beat up an old man, but he needs to come across as more forceful. He also needs to put away his goddamn script and stop repeating the same old crap over and over. You're coming across as a robot with no original thought, kinda like Barbie Palin. Will I watch the next debate? Just give me the highlights. This crap gets old waaaaay too quickly.
