Weekend with Family

It must have been a pretty good weekend. My mom, sister, and her husband were here for a weekend visit and nobody killed one another! *LOL* Actually we all had a fun time. Mom got into town on Fri. afternoon and my sis got here a few hours later. We all enjoyed dinner at our favorite seafood place.

On Saturday Kitty had things to do so she left in the late morning. Sis and I had tickets to a UNM Lobos basketball game. I have lived here for almost 10 years and have never been to "The Pit." Of course I spent most of the game watching Lobo Louie and Lucy. Their performances were good, but nothing great. I got a good look at the suit since Louie was only a couple of rows in front of me when he was entertaining a young fan. I also had a special treat at the half because they had a mascot basketball game! *joy* The Bank of the West bear is the exact same design from Marylen as Sabot. The only difference is a slight difference in muzzle color. It would sure suck to be the Dairy Queen ice cream cone or the Wienerschnitzel hot dog. The REAL basketball game between UNM and Southern Miss was also pretty damned exciting as well. UNM came back from 12 points down to finally take the lead with a minute to go. They won by 2.

Sunday was a relaxing day to just hang out. We did a little yard work while a nice beef roast cooked in the oven. We had an early dinner just like we would have done if it had been Christmas Day. Kitty, Mom, and I then went to a performance of the Nutcracker on the Rocks. It was an updated version of the holiday classic only done with a modern soundtrack. Overall it was great. The dancing was very nice. It was a bit uneven, however, but not enough for me to give it a thumbs down. We went. We saw. Game over.

So now it's back to work. Sis and bro leave this morning, and Mom leaves on Friday.
