Christmas Wrap...Up

Let's do a brief rewind to Christmas Eve. This was the 4th year that I have gone down to Old Town and guerrilla fursuited for the luminaria tour. This year there were 3 more suiters to add to the holiday joy. This is truly one of the more wonderful events that a fursuiter could ask for. Everyone is in great holiday spirits. There are lots of kids and families. There are lots of cameras. Who could ask for anything more! Every year I get pounced by women who have had a bit too much holiday cheer. It just adds to the fun. The most precious moment of the evening happened when a little girl asked me if I were real. I pantomimed in a standoffish manner that OF COURSE I WAS REAL! I then inquired if SHE were real. Of course all of this was done through my handler's interpretation. Finally as the girl was about to leave she gave me one more hug and whispered, "I love you, Mr Bear" *melts*

The event coordinator for the City was there again, and he was very happy to see us. Like last year we became an impromptu event. The square's gazebo became a photo studio for people wanting pics with all of the furry critters. Like last year we finished up taking pics with people in front of the City's Xmas tree. Here's a few pics.

After the event there was an impromptu furmeet at Fur Central. It was nothing special, but everyone just sort of chilled out and nommed on snacks. I was exhausted from suiting and Kitty was coming down with a cold, so we kicked everyone out by about 10.

Christmas Day was a very low-key event for us. Kitty was sick which really put a damper on the day. Like I posted, we watched various versions of The Nutcracker all day. Of course I also had to watch "A Christmas Story." No, I didn't put on my pink bunny suit. I'll have to ask djmermaid and jovino make me another one that's not as heavy and floofy and more like the one Ralphie gets in the movie. I know tygercowboy has a traditional "Christmas Story" dinner at a Chinese restaurant just like in the movie. I also decided to have a themed dinner. Think. What is the only other dinner shown in the movie? The famous meat loaf scene with little brother Randy being a little piggy. I decided to make my famous meatloaf for dinner. As usual it turned out great. Unfortunately Kitty's cold kicked into high gear and she crashed before eating. I just curled up on the sofa with my dinner, a glass of wine, and "It's a Wonderful Life" on dvd. And there you have Xmas '08 at Fur Central. There will be a party on New Years Eve!
