I just thought I would make a note in good ol' LJ that we had our 1st frost up here on the West Side last night. It wasn't supposed to get THAT cold, but fortunately I checked the NWS site before heading to bed. They had lowered the forecasted temp and issued a freeze warning. I quickly put a tarp over the garden which saved it. Any foliage that was not covered (which was not much)is now dead. Cloud cover will keep things above 32 tonight, but an Arctic blast is supposed to hit tomorrow, so the cover will be back on tomorrow night. Hopefully I can squeeze a few more tomatoes and peppers out of the garden before the cold gets too much.
Oh, and there's snow forecast for the mountains. YAY! Pre-load that snowpack early so that I'm not shitting bullets in March/April.
