I started thinking that we as humans should not have such schadenfreude for the poor little mayfly. If a mayfly lives for 1 day, that is .003% of the lifespan of a human (who has the fortune of living until 80.) So if humans were mayflies, a god-like being similar to a human would have a lifespan of roughly 2.3 million years. That seems like a huge amount of time, but geologically speaking, we're still in the blink-of-an-eye category. That's even moreso when you think about the age of the universe.
So yes, I think about weird shit, but it once again shows that we are here for all-too-short of a time. No more laughing at the mayfly and its one day orgy. Perhaps we should even take a lesson from them! ;o)
