Like a room in my house had just been rearranged"
-"Rock Steady", Sting
New windows for the entire house should be installed this week. In preparation for all of the work, we needed to make sure that there was access to all of the windows. That's easier said than done in our house because we are overwhelmed with clutter. I do my fair share of hoarding, but Kitty is the Clutter Queen. She's going to hit me for that one. *lol* 4 of the new windows are going to be installed in our loft area which is also our computer room. I decided that now would be a good time to rearrange everything to both temporarily create easy access to the windows as well as maximizing exposure of the windows after they are installed. The old arrangement had my desk's hutch section blocking one window. Kitty's desk was in front of the other one which made opening the window a major chore. My plan was to essentially rotate the furniture 180 degrees around the room.
We bribed dragoncrescent, eaglem16, skitzycat, and another friend with pizza to come over and help us with the move. Before their arrival Kitty and I cleaned out our desks. Of course there was dust everywhere which didn't help either. I looked at my mountain of clutter and got very depressed. I threw everything in a critter coffin to just get it out of the way. I hope to tackle getting rid of a lot of the stuff while the workers are putting in the windows. Do I really need a stack of unused 5.25" floppy discs?!? I hate to throw away stuff that is still good, but I just currently have no use for. We thought about buying more bins to store the stuff, but that's not really helping the problem. We'll just have to decided what to do with our excess/unwanted stuff. On the other paw, the loft area now looks really good!
