The AlbuFURque Report!...but first...

I was going to do a furmeet report but I forgot to upload pics to LJ yesterday. So the report will have to wait a bit. In the meantime I can jump ahead a day and talk about the recovery instead. *lol* The party was a huge success but the morning after found a sink full of bottles and cans for recycling. There were cups and plates all over the place as well as overflowing garbage cans. With our crack team of helpers, however, we had the place looking reasonable again in a short amount of time. After saying good byes to our out-of-town guests, I decided to take a nap. Yes, I'm getting old and an afternoon nap sounded divine. I was also still recuperating from numerous cans of Pabst and a pitcher of mint juleps.

Now the Weather Service had put in their forecast a few days earlier that conditions on Sunday were going to be "ridiculously windy." They hit the nail right on the head. Normally by this time of year the jet stream would be farther to the north and our Spring winds would have moved on. Not this year. I took Mesa for his walkies and got horribly sand blasted. I felt so sorry for the pup since he was a lot closer to the ground than myself and my face was getting exfoliated by the blowing dirt. My skin was dried and chapped from the hot dry air. I just wanted to crash and chill for the rest of the evening.

Both Kitty and I were pretty wiped out and we just wanted mindless entertainment. What would be better than "Jackass 3?" *LOL* Kitty had asked me why I put that into the Netflix queue and I couldn't really answer her. OMG! I'm so glad I did! It was such good stupid humor that we were both *LOAO* Many brain cells were killed that night.

We went to bed at the usual time, but I had a very difficult time nodding off. The wind continued and was HOWLING through the house. I could hear the patio furniture sliding all over the place. I knew the patio garbage can had flipped over when I heard Mesa's food bowl, which was full of food and sitting on top to keep the ants out, crash to the ground with a nice stainless steel "KLANG!" A little while later Kitty's car alarm starts going off because our regular garbage can had been thrown onto the hood. I changed the Weather Service's "ridiculously windy" to "retardedly windy." The slight chance for precip seems to be getting smaller and smaller. Still no sign of the monsoon. This drought is REALLY starting to piss me off!
