For the first time in about 30 years I have started wearing glasses again. I had mentioned that my eyes had been slowly deteriorating since I had LASIK over 13 years ago. I had horrible vision at the time and they did what they could to get me close to 20/20. I think I ended up closer to 20/40. That was still a great improvement from the 20/400 (or worse) that I had been. I have been getting more and more frustrated with my inability to read signs at a distance. Like I posted about about a month ago, I was getting really pissed not being able to read street signs which made driving in an unknown city a major pain. So I picked up my specs yesterday. Holy shit. I had been driving with such shitty vision?!? It made a world of difference! It's once again a pleasure to drive. Even watching t.v. last night was so much better. HDTV was REALLY HD! I could actually read all of the credits now! The one other good thing is that I could finally wear fashionable frames. When I wore coke-bottle glasses as a kid, my frame selection was pretty limited to huge ones that were capable of holding the massive lenses. Kitty says I look like a college professor. I say I just look more like an old man.
