FurCentral was once again bursting at the seams, but with much more seating in the yard, it worked. The debate of moving the event to a hotel is still there, but the intimacy of having it at my home where everyone can pretty much do what they want certainly has a lot going for it. It all works when everyone chips in and contributes.
The weather was a bit of a bitch. Temps were in the mid/upper 90's which was a bit uncomfortable. Since people were constantly coming and going, I shut off the air conditioner. That made things a bit toasty inside AND outside. Once the Sun went down, however, it got very pleasant outside.
One of the more memorable events was that the house got buzzed by a police helicopter. We all thought that we were going to get raided, but it turned out that there was some "police activity" down the block. We did our best to squick the cops by shaking our tails at them. The helicopter also brought all of the neighbors out, so they got quite the show from us as we also came out to see what was going on.
Hopefully I can lure more of you out here next year! Good times!
