Salad Days

It must be the salad days of Summer because it's a great time for salad! The tomato plant has started producing some humungous ripe tomatoes. The one surviving cucumber plant kicked into high gear and has produced a couple very nice cukes. I have picked a couple green peppers while the poblanos have been coming along quite nicely. The Mexi-corn is still a question mark. A couple of stalks are about 6' tall, but they have barely started to tassel. Green beans look scraggly, but they have started producing. I put up a valiant fight against the squash bugs, but alas, they have claimed the zucchini plants. I at least got several huge squash from them before the were killed. I'll tell you there is nothing like a huge salad made largely from ingredients picked fresh from the garden. Tasty and healthy!
