The one downside to early voting is that if something comes up in the last days before the election you can't pull your vote back. The other day I saw, perhaps, one of the sleaziest ad campaigns this year for a minor office of public utility commissioner. I think I voted for the Democrat based on her qualifications. She started running ads, however, that would make me want to take my vote back based on principles. She attacked her opponent as being a 40-year old gambler who never got married and lives in a house his mother owns. WTF?!? The "never married" part is the one thing that wanted me to throw a brick at her head. We had a real sleazeball in that office a few years ago and she is equating his fondness for casinos with the innuendo that he will gamble away state funds. It's some of the worst garbage I have seen all election season and, believe me, there has been a lot of garbage out there.
