Ugh. I'm stuck in a week-long training class to maintain my certification in contract management. I had been told that we are going to a project management-style organization, and only project managers would need contract experience. Since I was not approved for project management training, I thought I would be free and clear from working with contracts. Nope. I was told that our division was different and I would have to keep up my certification. Great. Dealing with contracts is like nails on a chalkboard. If you want to experience government bureaucracy at it worst, just go into contract management. I will admit there ARE some interesting things to be learned about contracts, but spending a whole week in class is just painful.
