"Adam and Dog" - The story of the first man forming his relationship with the first dog. HERE is the link to the movie. I liked it, but it was kinda slow and kinda dark.
"Fresh Guacamole" - I absolutely LOVED the creativity of this REALLY short film. I'm not sure if a movie less than 2 minutes long can win. HERE is the link.
"Head Over Heels" - If "Fresh Guacamole" doesn't win, then this film probably will. The only reason I say this is because the other 2 movies are from major studios. I know how snobbish the Academy can get especially in this category. I wasn't particularly enamored by this film, but it had a lot of technical skill and a sappy plot. See for yourself
"Maggie Simpson in The Longest Daycare" - There was some great social commentary here about the American education system. There were also some great sight gags, but when you boil it down, it's a short episode of "The Simpsons." No link because it's Fox. Even the online trailer sucks ass.
"The Paperman" - This was an entry from Disney. From what I have read it was played before "Wreck It Ralph." Surprisingly, Disney has allowed it to be posted online. If the bias towards the big studios is overcome, then this would be the hands-down winner.
There were also a few "also-rans" included in the show since it would have been way too short without some filler. You'll have to look them up yourself if you're interested. I only found trailers.
"Abiogenesis" - CGI Sci-fi from New Zealand about terraforming.
"Dripped" - An art thief devours the paintings he steals.
"The Gruffalo's Child" - The follow-up to the Academy Award nominee from a few years ago. Very cute and furry with the same A-list voice acting cast.
