Last night we had some wonderful thunderstorms roll through the area. I was awoken at around 3am by bright flashes of lightning. They continued for about 2 hours. The news today reported over 1000 cloud-to-ground strikes. Right now as I type this we're coming off of another massive line of thunderstorms which hit the area. Kitty and I were watching t.v. when I shut the sound off to try to figure out what that weird sound was outside. It was massive gusts of wind and torrential rain. We then realized that Boot Kitty was outside. He was hunkered down under Kitty's car but still getting soaked. Finally I ran out into the rain and yoinked him. He is such a resilient little guy! We dried him off and he was purring in no time.
As a follow up to my last post, I have to report that things have improved considerably. Mom will hopefully be discharged from the hospital today. I went to a podiatrist today and he took care of my nail problem. I found an authorized repair shop for the carpet cleaner and dropped it off today. BTW...Bissel sucks! A vacuum repair guy told me so today. He won't even work on them because they break constantly.
So now I'm watching the radar as a big bunch of rain heads right over the city. It's my weekend to be on-call, so I will be closely monitoring what's going on with the river. Water = GOOD!
