Last night's storm was one for the record books. There was a recorded wind gust at the airport of 86 MPH. There is some incredible news footage from the baseball game where the ground crew almost went parasailing when the tarp they were trying to cover the infield with caught a gust of wind and almost went sailing into the stands. The Rio Grande is really going apeshit this morning. I'm seeing the highest flows of the year pouring through ABQ. No flooding in the river, but lots of streets and neighborhoods are under water. Even one normally-dry river/arroyo is flowing at a rate almost double that of the Rio Grande into which it's dumping. We wanted a good monsoon and we're certainly getting it! We just may make it to the end of the season which is still (unfortunately) 3 months away.
