I'm currently at the Grand Canyon hanging out with scruff_e_coyote. One thing that I have always wanted to try was biking around the park especially on the Hermit's Rest Road which is closed to most traffic except park buses. Scruff also knew of some cool backcountry roads so this morning we hit the trails. I think all in all we did something like 11-12 miles. That was about the length of my commute to work when I did such a thing. I haven't ridden to work in almost 2 years. I also had nice solid pavement to ride on. Here we were mostly riding on single and double track with lots of rocks. Needless to say that I was huffin and puffin most of the time. My legs gave out by the time we eventually hit the Hermit's Rest Road. It was then a fairly brief slog back to Chez Yotie. So here I sit typing this and enjoying a refreshing beverage. We'll see what kind of trouble we can get into tomorrow.
