The Age of Innocence

I saw this comic strip the other day and just had to smile:

Normally I'm not too crazy about the character Danae because she can be a bit TOO cynical at times, but here she comes across more as Calvin as in "Calvin and Hobbes." I think that strip was beloved because it perfectly captured that moment in many of our childhoods. I act the way I do and love the things I love because I don't want to lose that wonderful age of innocence. It's not quite Peter Pan Syndrome because a big part of me DOES want to grow up i.e. I have a wife, a house, a job, etc but there is that part of me that wants to live in a world of talking animals and magic. Even getting eaten by a bear is not necessarily a bad thing. *grins*
