This has definitely been a relax-o-con. Our main activity has been to sit in a high-traffic area in the lobby or atrium and people-watch. This has also included fursuit critiquing as we try to guess just WTF species it's supposed to be. Occasionally I'll be the curmudgeonly old fursuiter and yell "put your head on!" We frequently hang out with the other members of the NM furry contingency. I hadn't planned on being in the fursuit parade, but I decided it would be fun to suit together with Kitty. Aw! Our first fursuit parade together as husband and wife. *lol* Other than that we haven't done a lot of con activities except do a lot of drinking. scritchwuff continues to gain the reputation as "master of the mint julep." I should also say that there is perhaps a thawing of relations between myself and the "con that shall not be named" (MFF). It seems that woodychitwn is the new con chair and is here to promote Elliot's Spring Gathering. We went to their room party and chatted for quite a long time. We have always loved Woody so it was great to reconnect. Who knows? Perhaps we shall make a re-appearance in Chicago one of these days.

One of the debates we have been having is whether or not the whole "con thing" is worth the time, money, and effort. There are so many other great destinations around the world. Perhaps it would be better to spend more time doing that. We're also getting older while the fandom seems to be getting younger. Does it still hold the "magic" for us? I think I kinda got the answer while hanging out in the hotel atrium. Just sitting there soaking in the atmosphere made me stop and think. It just brought a smile to my face to see all of the madness and insanity that surrounded me. It was like that new fur told me at this year's AlbuFURque. He said that he felt totally at ease and like he had found a home. That's exactly how I felt. I was down the rabbit hole and loving it! After all of these years there is still that feeling deep down.
