We had a gig last night for the lighting of the City's Christmas tree in Old Town. We have done this event a few times in the past and it's gotten to that sweet spot where we are now officially asked by the City to participate. There was just a little miscommunication and/or incomplete planning that we were not allowed to stay within the roped off area by the tree. I'm not sure if that was the plan or if there was just an overzealous security person. Either way the crowd still loved us. And the crowd was INSANE! I knew we were in trouble when we got there and there wasn't a parking space to be found. I ended up parking in a residential area about 3 blocks away. As soon as we hit the plaza we were mobbed for pix. It was a great time. After the tree was lit we made our way to the gazebo in the square where we thought we might have more room. It was a harrowing adventure wading out into a sea of people, trying to hold on to the handlers while being high foured, hugged, and mobbed for pictures, all the time in a very dark environment. But we survived!
