"Starship Troopers"

I just finished book #2 in Sabot's Summer Reading Program. I decided to go with Robert Heinlein's sci-fi classic. I had seen most of the movie years ago and wondered if it was anything close to the book. I remember how Hollywood butchered Asimov's "I, Robot" and turned his "Nightfall" into a New Age piece of hippie bullshit. From what I remembered from the movie, it looks to be another butcher job. The movie seemed to be one big battle with the army of (awful CGI) Bugs. In the book the battle scenes are almost secondary. Where the book shines is in its political commentary about what it means to be a citizen, a soldier, and/or someone who contributes to society. Is a soldier someone who should be worshiped, appreciated, or ignored? Overall, it was a good read.
